Facet

My mother always takes her engagement ring off when she washes the dishes or works in the yard. She does this so that she wont scratch one of the facets of the diamond on her ring.

The other day I was watching National Treasure. At the end of the movie the characters find themselves trapped in an underground tunnel, so they were precipitated into a situation that they weren't prepared for.
